Here we thought "Made by Google" tagline had to do with some Google-branded or/and Google-made hardware debutante. So what is the case now? Possibly Google is doing away with the Nexus brand and unveil the rumoured to be Google's 2016 Flagship Smartphones, Pixel and Pixel XL. Google Wifi, Chromecast Ultra, Google Home, Daydream View etc, may also likely remain the focus.

Let's do our Homework.

Google Pixel Smartphones

  • Google is likely to ditch the Nexus brand when it unveils its flagship smartphones under the Pixel brand, manufactured by HTC/Huawei. .
  • Pixel may reportedly feature a 5-inch display with a resolution of 1920x1080, while the Pixel XL may sport a 5.5-inch Quad HD AMOLED display, a likely a larger battery and a rumoured 13-megapixel primary and 8-megapixel front cameras.
  • The Pixel phones might be available in white or black colour options.
  • Both devices will share a Snapdragon 821 processor, Adreno 530 graphics, 4GB RAM, and at least 32GB of on-board storage
  • Both phones would run the latest version of Android Nougat, that adds support for Google's Daydream VR platform.

What is Google Daydream?

  • Android 7.0 Nougat supports Daydream, a new VR platform for Android devices, which simplifies access to virtual reality content.
  • Google plans to expand its existing Cardboard initiative and directly challenge the mobile VR market.
  • October 5 event will likely showcase Daydream VR running on its latest mobile devices.
  • Google also has confirmed it is working on a headset and controller of its own. The headset should launch alongside the Pixel phones.

Knowing Google Chromecast 4K

  • The basic idea behind Chromecast is to make the existing televisions, Smart.
  • In 2013, Google introduced the first Chrome cast, an affordable HDMI dongle to wirelessly "cast" content to a TV.
  •  Chromecast 2 came out in 2015, faster and more responsive with improved internals, new design, and a refreshed app.
  •  Google may reportedly launch its third-generation model, Chromecast Ultra, a 4K version alongside its two new Pixel smartphones in this coming event.

What is Google Home?

  • Rivalling Amazon's Echo, a connected Bluetooth speaker equipped with a personal assistant(Alexa), Google Home, a Wi-Fi speaker can act as a Smarthome control-center and an assistant for the entire family.
  • The device has swappable bases to match home decor and a speaker that can playback songs and lets Google Assistant to talk.
  • Google Home can control connected speakers throughout the house and any video content(thanks to Google Cast), on a voice command.

Understanding Google Wi-Fi

  • Google has developed a router called Google Wi-Fi.
  • Equipped with dual band and featuring two ports, 802.15.4 radios, AC1200 speeds, and Bluetooth, this device can offer smart features and a better range than most routers.
  • Google's current single-port Wi-Fi - Onhub routers are made by other companies.
  • Google-branded device that will apparently be able to link up with multiple units, allowing it to form a mesh Wi-Fi network, kind of like Amazon's Echo Dot.

But it is now rumoured that the most Important part of this event may not be the hardware. We know that Microsoft already supports 2-in-1 hybrids with Windows 10 and now Google may join the party. Android/Chrome OS hybrid operating system, internally code-named “Andromeda,” that would work on phones, tablets and even computers, may steal the show. Android Police cites that Google's first Andromeda running laptop, called Bison internally/Pixel 3 informally, will likely be the first device to showcase Andromeda in a laptop form factor.

So on October 4, Google is expected to give the world its first glimpse of Andromeda and launch the new Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones running Android 7.0.1 Nougat.
